BEHIND THE NUMBERS
How this calculation works
Worked example
Year 1 costs £9,000 + £200 − £1,000 = £8,200. Year 2 costs £9,200 + £200 = £9,400. Total £17,600, or £1,760 over ten equal budget instalments.
Example result: £17,600.00
Do not apply one national fee to everyone
Charges can depend on the provider, academic year, course and fee status. A quoted module price can be entered directly; it need not be forced into a full-time annual model.
A loan is not a fee reduction
Borrowing changes how a charge is funded, not the price of the course. Only enter a reduction that actually lowers the amount charged.
Assumptions and rounding
- All fees are entered in the selected currency and reflect the user’s course and residency status.
- Fee reductions are confirmed grants or discounts, not repayable loans.
Questions about this calculator
Does it work for online modules?
Yes. Enter the quoted module or credit fee and billable quantity for each row.
Are fee caps automatically applied?
No. The calculator uses your identified fee schedule and does not decide which national rules or fee status apply.
